Super Eagles John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses up for BBC African Footballer of the year Awards

Super Eagles player Mikel Obi and and fellow team mate Victor Moses have been nominated for the BBC African Footballer of the year Award.

The duo helped their national team win the African cup of nations and mikel was also influential in Chelsea's Europa Cup victory

Also joining the Chelsea and Liverpool stars among the five nominees announced on Monday for the 2013 edition were Ivory Coast five time nominee and current holder Yaya Toure, Burkina Faso's Jonathan Pitroipa and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang  of Gabon.

The five nominees haven't worn the award before except for Yaya, Pitroipa and Aubameyang are the first nominees from their respective countries.

The winner will be chosen by fans voting through website and texting. The shortlisted nominees were drawn from 44 journalist from across Africa.

The winner will be announced on the 2nd of December.
